Welcome to the website of Total Brass, an award winning brass quintet, University of Birmingham Ensemble in Residence 2014-15, Chamber Music Fellows of the Royal Academy of Music 2013-14, Park Lane Group Artists for 2013-14, Winners of the Tunnell Trust awards for season 2013 for 2014-15 and Winners of the Worshipful Company of Musicians Brass Ensemble Prize. The group was formed four years ago, when all members were studying at the Royal Academy of Music, and during this time, Total Brass have performed countless recitals up and down the country. Performances have included recently opening the Gramophone Awards Ceremony as well as other high profile events: They have featured two years consecutively on the BBC Radio 3: In Tune Christmas Special, and performed for Her Majesty the Queen, at the Diamond Jubilee 'Celebration of the Arts' event.
Individually, Total Brass's members are regularly freelancing with all the major London and UK orchestras, including current trials with the Scottish Opera and Welsh National Opera. Two of the players are members of the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, and Jason Evans has recently been appointed as the Principal Trumpet of the Philharmonia Orchestra. Please see the biographies section for further detail on the players and the quintet, and the media section for recordings and photographs.
Total Brass's diverse range of repertoire and depth of experience means they are an excellent choice for all event formats including recitals, corporate events, weddings, outreach and education workshops, graduation ceremonies and more.
